SAN ANTONIO. Texas (AP) - Gunslingers quarterback Rick Neuheisel scored from 1 yard out with 15 seconds remaining as San Antonio broke an eight-game losing streak with a 31-27 victory over the Los Angeles Express.

The Gunslinger victory avenges a 38-7 drubbing at the hands of Los Angeles on March 16.
Neuheisel's plunge capped an eight-play, 70-yard drive in less than two minutes He hit Donny Roberts with passes of 19 and 7 yards. Roberts' second reception set up Neuheisel's score after San Antonio had lost a 12-point fourth-quarter lead.
San Antonio was ahead 24-12 with 8:36 left in the game after Roberts scored from l2 yards out. But the Express closed it to 24-19 on the next play, when Steve Young threw a 66- yard scoring bomb to Kris Haines.
After the kickoff, the Gunslingers appeared content to try and run out the clock, but a third-down Neuheisel pass was intercepted by David Howard and returned 6 yards to the San Antonio 41.
